1. What is Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC)?

EASONZELL™ MP series Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) is a high-performance non-ionic cellulose ether polymer, a high-end modified material developed specifically for the construction industry. As a benchmark product for construction-grade cellulose ethers, MP series HPMC has become an indispensable functional additive in modern building materials with its excellent water retention, adhesion and construction performance. The product complies with international standards to ensure safety and reliability in various construction applications.

 

2. Product characteristics and advantages

  • Excellent chemical properties

High purity: 8-12% hydroxypropyl content, 28-30% methoxy content, ensuring stable chemical properties

Excellent water solubility: cold water instant type, can form a uniform transparent solution within 5 minutes

pH stability: maintain stable performance within the pH range of 2-12

Thermogel properties: form a reversible gel above 60°C, and restore the solution state after cooling

 

  • Functional characteristics

Water retention performance: The water retention rate is as high as 95%, significantly reducing the risk of premature drying of materials

Thickening effect: Solution viscosity range 10,000-150,000mPa·s (2% aqueous solution, 20°C)

Retarding effect: can extend the initial setting time of cement by 1-3 hours (adjusted according to the amount added)

Bond strength: tensile strength increased by 40-60%, shear strength increased by 30-50%

 

3. Detailed explanation of application in the construction industry

  • Modification of cement-based materials

Mortar application:

Adding 0.1-0.3% can improve pumpability and reduce segregation

Reduce water seepage rate to <0.5% and improve surface finish

Increase 28-day compressive strength by 15-20%

Self-leveling mortar:

Control fluidity loss rate <5%/30min

Reduce surface bubbles and improve flatness (up to ±2mm/2m)

 

  • Optimization of gypsum-based materials

Gypsum plastering:

Extend the operable time to 90-120 minutes

Reduce the risk of cracking, shrinkage rate <0.05%

Gypsum board:

Increase the core material bonding strength by 0.15-0.25MPa
