Product Overview
EasonZell™ RDP is based on vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer chemistry, spray-dried in the presence of a protective colloid (polyvinyl alcohol) to produce a free-flowing powder. Upon contact with water in the mortar mix, the powder redisperses to form a fine latex emulsion, which upon drying coalesces into a continuous polymer film within the mineral matrix.
This polymer film bridges microcracks, enhances adhesion to challenging substrates (glass, metal, old paint), and imparts a degree of flexibility that purely mineral mortars lack. RDP is one of the most versatile performance additives in modern dry-mix mortar technology, and its combination with cellulose ether (HPMC/HEMC) is considered the cornerstone of high-performance thin-layer mortar systems.

Application
EasonZell™ RDP is a key ingredient in high-performance dry-mix mortar systems:
- Tile adhesive (C2 grade, EN 12004) — increases tensile adhesion strength, especially after water immersion and freeze-thaw cycling.
- EIFS / External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) — provides essential flexibility and impact resistance for base coats over EPS and mineral wool boards.
- Repair mortars — excellent adhesion to old concrete, masonry, and steel substrates.
- Self-leveling underlayments (SLU) — reduces surface cracking and improves wear resistance.
- Tile grout — improves stain resistance, flexibility, and adhesion in thin-joint applications.
Usage notes: Always blend RDP with dry components before water addition. RDP is sensitive to prolonged exposure to high humidity — store in sealed bags. Do not add RDP directly to liquid admixtures.
