• A: For large-format tiles, we recommend high-viscosity grades in the range of 100,000–200,000 mPa·s (2% solution). Higher viscosity directly translates to better slip resistance, which is critical when setting heavy panels on vertical surfaces.

• Q: How does HPMC affect the set time of cement-based tile adhesive?
• A: HPMC slightly retards cement hydration due to its water-retention effect. At typical dosage levels (0.2–0.4%), the retardation is manageable. If faster set is needed, pair HPMC with an accelerator such as calcium formate.

• Q: Can HPMC be used in gypsum-based tile adhesive?
• A: Yes. HPMC is compatible with both cement and gypsum binders. For gypsum systems, the dosage is usually lower (0.1–0.25%) as gypsum hydrates faster and excessive retardation should be avoided.

• Q: Is your HPMC pre-blendable in dry-mix factory conditions?
• A: Yes. Our tile adhesive grades are surface-treated (delayed dissolution) so they remain free-flowing during dry blending and only dissolve fully upon water addition at the job site. This prevents bridging or clogging in factory mixers.

• A: Elevated temperatures (above 30°C) accelerate water evaporation and cement hydration, shortening open time. In hot climates, we recommend increasing HPMC dosage by 0.05–0.1% or selecting a higher-viscosity grade to compensate.
