Product Overview
EASONZELL™ HEC for water-based coatings is engineered specifically for architectural and industrial aqueous paint formulations. As a cellulose-derived thickener, it provides pseudoplastic flow behavior — high viscosity at rest (sag resistance) and reduced viscosity under shear (easy brush or roller application). The product is compatible with a wide range of co-solvents, pigments, and latex emulsions commonly used in modern coating systems.
Its non-ionic nature means it is stable across a broad pH range (2–12) and shows good tolerance toward electrolytes and surfactants, making it an ideal rheology modifier for both interior and exterior formulations. EASONZELL™ HEC grades are available in various viscosity levels to suit high-PVC matte paints, semi-gloss finishes, and industrial protective coatings alike.

Application
EASONZELL™ HEC is widely used in water-based architectural coatings, industrial protective coatings, and specialty paint systems. Key application areas include:
- Interior & exterior latex paints — provides ICI and KU viscosity balance, prevents pigment settling.
- Primer and undercoat — improves leveling and prevents sagging on vertical surfaces.
- Texture coatings & masonry paint — high-viscosity grades deliver thixotropic body required for roller-applied textured finishes.
- Industrial coatings — electrolyte tolerance ensures stability in high-salt formulations.
Usage notes: Pre-disperse HEC in water before adding other ingredients. Avoid adding to acidic solutions below pH 3. Recommended addition level: 0.1–0.5% by weight of total formulation.
